A Cuppa Joe...

You are necessity in the morning.

A Morning Joe

And a delightful afternoon treat!

I posted this for Beyond Layers. Our focus at the moment is on cups and mugs. This picture is not entirely what Ms. Kim had in mind, but is fitting for my temporary transient lifestyle.

Traveling abroad...

The layover in the airport was long and exhausting with not much to do except sit back and prop my feet up. I am anxious, excited and nervous. But exhaustion takes over and consciousness weaves in and out. I dream of whats to come.

Travels

I arrive at my destination. I am in awe of what surrounds me. I know I am going to like it here and I begin to think one year is not enough time to do all that I'd like. BLINK. Times up. Time to go home.

There is just one problem, though. My family is back in the states. And I miss them very much.

Goodbye Medina

This is my first attempt at making a movie. I used iMovie on the iPad and video taken with my third generation iPhone. I uploaded the film to YouTube since I cannot figure out how to see the filename on the iPad. The image quality is poor for several reasons including filming on the iPhone and uploading to YouTube in a small size.

Today I get on a plane to go to The Land of the Morning Calm. Goodbye Medina is a farewell video paying homage to one of my favorite places near San Antonio, the Medina River Natural Area, and one of my favorite pastimes, walking the puckas behind home.

Taking a Leap

whether I want to or not.

Taking a Leap

Today George, my iMac, left me. He is on the advanced party. Well, no not really. He will arrive in Korea later than I will; me gettin to travel by plane and all and him by sea. So, I am taking a leap. A leap into my new iPad to learn more about iPadography and iMovie. It is a challenge, being away from my comfort zone *aka photoshop* But hey, I've been reading that CS6 has movie editing capabilities...

I am also taking a leap into learning html as that seems to be the only way I can post from my iPad. But thats okay too. I've wanted to improve my bloggin' skills and what better way to do so than learn its language?

This week in Kim Klassen's Beyond Layers, Kim challenges us to write a Leap List. So what would be on my list?

1. Learn photo-editing on the iPad

2. Learn to manipulate my blog

3. Learn html

Here's to taking a leap!

In a few moments...

I am going to pack up George, my iMac. But before I do, I want to get one last post in. Tomorrow is not my last day in S.A. That comes later in the week.  However, it is my last day with my beloved computer, Photoshop and Lightroom for about a month or two...lol! I am procrastinating, yes. There is something about packing up George that makes the reality of my future sink in. So I drag my feet...spend some time processing photographs taken at the Botanical Gardens. Mmmm, the Gardens. Had to say farewell to that place, even if it is a temporary good-bye.

There is always a bit of me that holds on to the past. She is the one dragging her feet. New adventures await. I embark on a journey of a lifetime. I have more to look forward to in the future than in the past...yet...

...there is a piece of me that clings to once was.

Oh, before I go. I want to share this creation too!

When next I write and share, it will have to be from my iPad. I'm not sure how well that will go. But I've got some ideas...some things I want to try (and learn). All of that is part of my adventure too *grin*.

Where inspiration comes from...

For quite some time I have admired the work in Grain Edit and Serifs & Sans. If you have an iPad or iPhone, you can add these sites to your Flipboard (which has to be one of the greatest apps EVER).

I've admired Grain Edit and Serifs & Sans so much, they are affecting the way I create of late:
