It feels like it has been forever...

since I've participated in Focus 52.  I'v been a busy, busy gal...class graduating, pages to make for the year book, training in South Carolina.  I've taken at least a thousand photographs; but alas, time is no friend of mine and I've just not had enough time to participate much in blog land.

This weeks F52 focus is Vintage.  I did not think I'd capture a vintage shot.  But playing with a new lens, a 50mm 1:1.4 at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens I came across a vintage well...and was able to capture this shot of the well's vintage pulley.

Mr. Franco, my boss as I call him, bought the lens for portraits. Below is a portrait of me taken by my friend Victor; and Victor taken by me.

I am a fan of extreme depth of focus.  I should call it extremely shallow depth of focus.  Taking portraits at f1:4 poses its challenges.  But I am pleased with the bokeh!  (I am disappointed that these two pics look a bit pixelated upon upload...ah-well.) And I simply adore capturing flowers with very shallow depth of focus.

While I'm at it, I might as well share this piece of Ann's Cake from La Madeleines.  Enjoy!
