Its an exciting time for me...

...being stationed in Korea. I love exploring Pyeongtaek City. Although I came from hot and humid San Antonio, Texas, Korea's cold does not bother me. Scarves, hats, gloves and crazy socks...love 'em. And I've got quite a collection growing. Its snowed many times this fall (to think its not even winter yet!). But I've enjoyed the snow and cold.

I turn 37 this month. I love my age. I love where I am in life. I would not turn back the hands of time.

Quiet moments...

This page took me all day to create.
*smile*
I refuse to use templates, as there would be no challenge for me in using them. This was created using Karen Lewis' Pretty Things.

When in Korea...

...do as the Koreans. (And drink Soju.)

I've found I have an affinity for the beverage Soju. Its Korean rice liquor and tastes very much like Vodka, but much sweeter. I was in Daegu the other day, er night, and showed my husband what I was drinking. He said he will no longer call me his little Soldier. I am now his little Soju. *giggle*

Yes, thats me taking a picture of me talking with Randy on the iPad. And yes, it was taken with my iPhone. *lol* Device overload? No way! I love the technology that allows me to video chat from across the globe.

More selfies. Yes, I've had a preoccupation with self. I guess I want to document my time here in Korea. Speakin' of which, here are couple of Daegu shots. Watch out for those moped-ist. They drive on the sidewalks. Almost got ran over twice!

After having a yummy dinner of spicy chicken at a local restaurant a block away from the hotel, I sat in my room for hours staring out the window. Reminded me a bit of sitting in the window in Boston. I enjoy the quiet time. Just sitting and observing and appreciating the moment. I found it humorous, the small parking lots below. Too small for the vehicles. Was even more humorous watching peeps park.

Yes, another selfie. I'm always on the hunt for reflections. The pictures below were taken at Camp Walker.

Spooky Hallow

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is by far one of my ALL TIME favorite movies. I did not watch it this year, however. Boo-hoo! *sniff* But thats okay. I did see another TB movie...Frankenweeine. Although I cried like a little girl in the movie theater 'cause I could not bare watching a beloved pet die. I'm going through The Nightmare Before Christmas withdrawal...I didn't get my yearly fix...which had become a bit of Halloween tradition for me.

This was my Halloween weekend: Spooky Hallow
And the Drunkbus!!!
Thats me as a pirate. But I think I came out more gypsy like! *smirk* Very fitting for me ;)
Hey! He kinda looks like Jack the Pumpkin King!
(I think I'm in love.)

With the exception of me in my Pirate/Gypsy outfit, all pics taken with my Nikon D90, 35mm 1:1.8 fixed. Not bad for night photos w/no flash.

What I've been up to lately...

More art dollies...

...digi style!

Ice has a special place in my heart as she took a lot of photo-manipulation. She tested my skills. And I am very pleased with how she turned out. I feel guilty for having a favorite. But she's my favorite.

Fire was made after Ice. I used the same base model and recreated the original photo-manipulation. I felt this was important to do, to make sure the skills I learned creating Ice were concrete. Fire's hair was painted in Photoshop. Boy, did that take some time! And patience! Especially since it takes awhile to paint the hair...and how it begins does not look how it does in the end ;)

These gals were actually made in September. I am just now getting around to adding them here.

Holliewood Studios Art Dollies Halloween was used to make my dollies.

October Challenge @ Deviant Scrap

Find out more,here!

For Deviant Scraps October 2012 challenge, I decided to Scrap about Incubus attacks I had as a teenager. The photo of me, taken by Victor Chavez, was processed using Rad Lab and I added texture with one of Holliewood Studio's backgrounds from More Brains.

After processing, I incorporated the photo into a LO using backgrounds and elements from Pink Lotty's portion of Midnight Reverie. The evil looking clown is symbolic of the demon at my window during an Incubus attack. The Rosary is quite significant as the only way I could wake myself from these attacks was to recite the Hail Mary.

Hello...

my dear friends.
Have I been busy as ever!

Today, however.

Today was a welcomed break.

Time.

Time away from Anjeong-ri.
Time away from what has become my usual.

Bliss.

Yes, my day was full of bliss.
Let me tell you about it.

Today Pyeongtaek City hosted a Cultural Tour.
I began my morning visiting a nearby Buddist Temple
(pictures coming),
followed by three hours at the Suwon Folk Village.

Mmm...

...time.

Not enough of it spent there!

Jar of Hearts...

is my favorite digital doll creation at the moment.

Created with French Rococo

Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts inspired this piece.

It is an honor for me to announce...

that I've joined Mizzd Stock's Creative Team. I followed Ida for some time at deviantART. I am flabbergasted by the generosity of those that offer FREE stock images such as Ida. When she came to Deviant Scrap I was very, very excited! And later, when she put out an announcement for Creative Team members...I felt like Hermione Granger from Harry Potter...pick me, pick me!

Mizzd Stock images are right up my alley. They will help me develop into the digital artist I want to be! So I totally see it as my advantage to be on her creative team.

I've been collected digital dolls almost since the day I jointed Pinterest. And Mizzd is creating digital art dolls kits at Deviant Scrap.
